National RIA Day is observed on the third Wednesday in February, beginning February 17, 2027. Created by Schwab Advisor Services, the annual day recognizes independent registered investment advisors (RIAs) and the clients, students and communities they serve.
RIAs are legally required to act in their clients' best interests. National RIA Day celebrates the fiduciary commitment at the heart of the profession, highlights independent advising as a career path and recognizes firms of all sizes.
Advisors, clients, students and industry partners can mark the day through local celebrations, educational events, advocacy and community service. Firms can share their stories, welcome students and invite clients to recognize the relationships that make independent advice meaningful.
The idea began with students and faculty seeking to raise awareness of the profession. Schwab is supporting the national observance with resources and programming, while the day belongs to the wider RIA community. Its aim is to honor those who put clients first and help introduce the next generation to the field.
