Celebrated annually on June 14, Nurse Scientist Day honors nurse scientists--professionals who bridge clinical practice and research to build the evidence base that improves nursing care worldwide. Established by the National League for Nursing in 2026 to mark the June 14, 1993 founding of the National Institute of Nursing Research, the day recognizes the unique role of nurse scientists, who develop and translate nursing theories and evidence into practice. Observances can include awards at local, regional, and national levels--presented during research symposia--and events highlighting nurse scientist contributions.
