Also known as "Hogoshi Day", the International Day for Community Volunteers was established to honor volunteers who help offenders reintegrate into society, inspired by Japan's volunteer probation officer system. Declared by the Second World Congress for Community Volunteers on April 17, 2024, it promotes community involvement in "no one left behind" rehabilitation efforts.
